Our Story
Lindsay and Geoff are the husband-and-wife team behind Homemade Happiness by Lindsay, a Pittsburgh-based wedding planning services business specializing in wedding day planning and management, event styling, and floral backdrop rentals. Lindsay leads all of the planning, design, and client experience for each wedding, while Geoff supports the business through logistics, setup, and day-of wedding assistance, helping to ensure every wedding day runs smoothly behind the scenes.
After Lindsay earned her Master’s Degree in Business from Duquesne University and worked in corporate banking, she found herself drawn to something more personal than what the corporate world has to offer. Something more rooted in creating meaningful, beautiful celebrations for couples during one of the most important seasons of their lives. What started as a creative hobby of making silk floral arrangements and selling them at local craft shows and to brides-to-be, soon grew into a full-service Pittsburgh wedding planning business, focusing on thoughtful details and intentional design.
Homemade Happiness by Lindsay officially launched in July 2024, but the heart behind it has been growing for years. The name itself comes from Lindsay’s mother, who once sold handmade floral arrangements under the same name at local markets many years ago. Today, "Homemade Happiness" continues as a tribute to those roots, especially since Lindsay founded the business in the spare bedroom of her and Geoff’s home. After work, Lindsay would spend hours surrounded by flower stems, wiring bouquets together, and painting vases with the hopes of making a sale at her next show.
Now serving couples throughout Pittsburgh and beyond, Lindsay and Geoff provide wedding day planning support and management, event styling, and floral backdrop rentals.
Their approach is simple: every couple deserves to feel supported, understood, and fully present on their wedding day. With heartfelt planning, reliable communication, and hands-on support, they treat every wedding as if it were their own.
At the center of it all is a shared goal: to help couples plan stress-free weddings and create meaningful, lasting memories.

Hi, I’m Lindsay!
Wedding planner, founder of Homemade Happiness by Lindsay, hopeless romantic, and your biggest cheerleader throughout one of the most exciting seasons of your life.
A few years ago, I made a decision that completely changed my life.
One morning, I walked away from my corporate career with no backup plan and no certainty about what came next. I just knew I wanted to build a life that felt meaningful, creative, and aligned with who I was.
Later that same year, I worked my very first wedding and I was hooked…
I watched two people stand surrounded by everyone they loved and promise forever to one another. I witnessed the happy tears, the anticipation, the laughter, the nerves, the joy, and the overwhelming love that filled every corner of the day.
What started as a backdrop rental business quickly grew into something much bigger. I couldn't stop thinking about weddings, learning about weddings, and dreaming about how I could create an even better experience for couples. Over time, Homemade Happiness by Lindsay evolved into a full-service planning business offering Signature Full Planning, Curated Partial Planning, Wedding Day Management, Event Styling, and of course, our beloved backdrop rentals.
Today, I have the privilege of creating beautifully designed celebrations, but the truth is that my favorite part of this work has never been the flowers, the timelines, or even the stunning details.
It's the people.
The wedding industry often defines luxury by aesthetics alone. Although I absolutely love beautiful designs, exceptional five star service, and flawlessly executed events, I believe true luxury goes far beyond how a wedding looks.
Luxury is having someone by your side who genuinely cares.
It's having someone who remembers the little things. Someone who answers the text when you're feeling overwhelmed. Someone who advocates for you, celebrates with you, and helps carry the weight of the planning process, so you can actually enjoy it.
When you work with me, you'll absolutely receive a high-touch, detail-driven planning experience, you'll also receive something equally important: a real human connection.
We'll laugh together… A lot!
We'll celebrate every exciting milestone and every big planning win.
If wedding stress sneaks in and you need a moment to cry, vent, or talk things through, I'll be there for that too.
Most importantly, on your wedding day, if emotions are running high and you need a quiet place to regroup, I'm the person who will sit on the bathroom floor with you, hold your bouquet, fix your dress, remind you to take a deep breath, and help you walk back into your celebration feeling confident and cared for.
I think there's a misconception that wedding planning has to be a strictly transactional relationship. I don't believe that at all.
I believe the best weddings happen when trust is built, relationships are formed, and couples feel fully supported by the people guiding them through the process.
So yes, we'll talk about budgets and timelines. But, we'll also text each other with way too many emojis. My dogs and cats will almost certainly make guest appearances during our Zoom meetings and I'll celebrate your engagement photos, your dress appointment, your menu tasting, and every meaningful moment in between.
My husband Geoff and I have been together since I was 14 years old and growing up alongside my best friend has given me such a deep appreciation for enduring love. Experiencing that kind of love firsthand is one of the reasons I feel so honored to help couples begin their own forever.
When I'm not planning weddings, you'll find me spending time with my fur babies, tending to my garden, getting lost in a good book, searching for a new coffee shop, baking key lime pie, or dreaming about my next trip to Key West.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create a wedding experience that feels both elevated and deeply personal. A luxury experience with a human heart.
